Performance-Led Calibration
for Selected Vehicles
(Near Bournemouth & Poole)

A good calibration should improve drivability, response and usable performance while maintaining sensible mechanical limits. A bad calibration can do the opposite.

Dorset Sports Cars offers remapping and calibration for selected performance and prestige vehicles, assessed case-by-case based on your vehicle, hardware condition, modifications and goals.

This is not a “one-file-fits-all” service.

Efficiency Improvements
(Where Appropriate)

For suitable vehicles, calibration can improve drivability and balance without excessive power increases—useful for road use or controlled track work.

This is discussed on a case-by-case basis, not sold as a generic promise.

Custom Mapping
(By Arrangement)

If your requirements fall outside a standard scope, we can discuss a bespoke calibration approach based on your modifications and intended use.

Cars with aftermarket ECUs or extensive modifications may require this. Typically this applies to race/rally cars.

Frequently Asked Questions

Some of the common questions answered...

ECU remapping (calibration) is the process of adjusting the software that controls how your engine and, on some cars, gearbox behaves. Done properly, it can improve drivability, response and usable performance — but the right approach depends on the vehicle, its condition and any modifications.
It can be, when it’s correctly scoped and carried out on a healthy vehicle. We don’t apply “one-size-fits-all” files. We assess the car and your goals first, then only proceed if we’re confident a sensible, reliable calibration is appropriate.
We focus on selected performance and prestige vehicles and assess enquiries case-by-case. If we feel a remap isn’t suitable — due to vehicle condition, hardware limitations or intended use — we’ll tell you upfront.
A remap can affect manufacturer and third-party warranties, and it should also be declared to your insurer. We’ll explain the likely implications before any work is booked in so you can make an informed decision.
Most vehicles require several hours for the calibration work itself, but we normally ask to have the car for the day. That allows time for checks, reading/writing the ECU, and post-work validation.
In many cases, yes — we can restore the ECU software to factory settings. If you think you may want this in future, mention it when booking so we can confirm what’s possible for your model. A charge may apply.
Where appropriate, calibration can improve drivability and efficiency for certain vehicles and use cases. We don’t sell fuel savings as a guaranteed outcome — we’ll advise what’s realistic for your car and how you drive.
Pricing depends on the vehicle, ECU type and whether the car is standard or modified. The best way to get an accurate figure is to send your registration / model details and what you’re trying to achieve.
Yes, but these are handled as a bespoke job and may require additional checks or supporting work. Tell us exactly what’s been fitted and how the car is used so we can advise the right next step.
